Yam Apples

(Milk Free, Wheat Free)
  • 6 –8 Apples, Peeled And Sliced
  • 4 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 4-6 Yams (Or Canned)
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Cups Yam Liquid
  • 1 Stick (1/2 Cup) Margarine
  • 1 Cup Sugar
Boil Yams In Water Until Just Soft. Remove Yams And Use Liquid To Make Sauce. Mix Cornstarch With A Little Cold Water To Dissolve, Then Add 2 Cups Hot Yam Water, Salt, Sugar And Margarine. Cook Over Medium Heat Until Mixture Bubbles And Thickens, Stirring Constantly. Pour Sauce Over Sliced Apples And Yams Laid Out In A 3 Quart Casserole. Cover And Bake 30-45 Minutes Or Until Apples Are Tender.
