From Nickie Dumke’s “Five Year Survival Guide without Food”.


  • 1 16 oz. can of plain pumpkin
  • 1 C water
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin or 1 T. agar
  • 1 C date sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp. cloves
  • ¼ tsp. allspice
  • ¼ tsp. ginger
  • 1 baked single-crust pie shell


  1. Prepare and bake the pie shell.
  2. Put water in a saucepan and sprinkle the gelatin over the surface of the water.
  3. Heat the water over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it comes to a boil and the gelatin dissolves.
  4. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and put the pumpkin mixture into the pie shell.
  5. Refrigerate for several hours until it is thoroughly chilled.
