Ingredients:

  • 6 apples
  • 6 T. brown sugar
  • 6 T. butter

Maple Sauce Ingredients:

  • ½ C maple syrup
  • 1 T. brown sugar
  • ½ C apple cider
  • 2 T. lemon juice
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • ½ tsp. cloves
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and core apples without piercing bottom.
  2. Peel upper half and place in a baking dish.
  3. Drop a spoonful of brown sugar in each apple and dissolve starch in a saucepan in cool cider.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and heat until thickened.
  5. Pour sauce evenly in each apple, then top off with margarine.
  6. Pour ½ C water in pan and bake for one hour.
